Grafixpol is a small graphic design studio based in Lodz, Poland created by two young graphic designers: Kasia Wronska and Jan Worpus.
In our work we are interested in exploring different forms of visual message, considering both content and structure. For us graphic design conveys emotions, ideas and the essence of society and culture.
Kasia graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, Poland in 2006 with a MFA in publishing design. She also studied for one year at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, Slovakia. In 2007 she graduated from the Computer Science College in Lodz, Poland with a BA in computer animation. She gained her professional experience interning in graphic design studios in Paris, France (Carre Noir – Publicis Consultants, Undo-redo) and working in interactive agencies in Poland (Darkstone & Cardinal Business Group – D&C Graphics Ltd, Digital One – Euro RSCG). An individual approach to design process is essential to her, which is why, rather than working for a big graphic agency, she decided to set up a small graphic studio in cooperation with Jan.
She aspires to design in the field of culture and arts, as those are the themes the closest to her personal interests. For her the most important aspect of design is functionality. The effectiveness of a message comes first, before aesthetics and visual values.
Jan graduated from the High School of Fine Arts and Design in Lodz, Poland in 2000. His interest in art theory, philosophy and aesthetics led him to pursue his MA in Art History at the University of Lodz, Poland, from which he graduated in 2005. In addition, he studied commercial photography at the Academy of Photography in Warsaw, Poland in 2003-2004. Since 2003 he has worked as a freelance graphic designer and in 2006 he started running his own studio.
For Jan the most interesting step of designing is the process itself. Solving a problem is more important than the final solution, which is only one of many other possibly correct ones. The final form, rather than being purely visual research, results from intellectual analysis and careful choice of elements in order to convey the desired message.
